The website designed by Santa Laurensia students for the world

we interview the creator of this amazing website!!!

I wanted to let the students’ show-off their ability and potential to a wider audience. Also, it gives an opportunity to show other people in other countries what life is like for some Indonesian teens. I picked the website as a way of combining modern tech and traditional student skills. I want people who are interested in Indonesia to see our website. This includes tourists, students, anybody with an interest in the fourth largest country in the world (Indonesia). I want this website to be driven by the students; I want the students to give me ideas as often as I give the students ideas. I want the students to be as proactive as they can. I’m the guide; I help different students with different skills and different talents to fulfill our goal. I want to encourage them to develop their skills and talents and my job is to give them the platform to showcase their talents.

At the moment, the process isn’t hard because the students are active and creative almost every minute they are in the website room, which makes my job easier. It’s not my website; it’s the student’s website. The more students who get involved the bigger the website becomes and the better it will become. This website isn’t just for a year; this is only the start of a brighter, cooler future. If I’m not here anymore, I hope someone else will carry it on. I would be very happy if schools and students in other countries look to laurensia.net for ideas about Indonesia, for projects about Indonesia, for exercises about Indonesia.

I want the website to be about 2 things, Indonesia and ST. Laurensia (our school). Within those parameters I want the students to tell me what they want to see in the website. I want students in other countries to see the website and they have similar interest in the children here. So as much as possible, I want the children to drive the website.

I think it’s always good if people send us ideas of things they want to see in this website because, we know about Indonesia but we don’t know what other people don’t know about this country. So, we would love feedback and comments from people about the website and what they like to see in the website. There is an e-mail address on the contact page. In the future we may start a message board, if time and resources allow. Thank you for visiting this site, please keep returning because they are a great bunch of kids who are trying to make this the best student website in Indonesia, even the world.

Shout out from, Antony Sutton
